Session Dates

June 29 - July 18

Rich with cultural diversity, beautiful landscapes, and stunning architecture, Singapore is a vibrant cosmopolitan city, and thriving economic center. Designed to immerse students in this unique, multicultural environment, EPGY is offering a new three-week residential program in Singapore during the summer of 2008.

The EPGY Summer Institutes Singapore Program will take place on the Yunnan Garden Campus of Nanyang Technological University, one of Singapore’s premier institutions. Located in southwest Singapore, 30 minutes from downtown, Nanyang Technological University’s expansive campus includes 16 residence halls, a sport and recreation center, three libraries and a campus medical center.

As with the program on the Stanford campus, students are selected for, and will participate in intensive study of a single course. The EPGY Summer Institutes Singapore courses include Creative Writing, Expository Writing, Globalization and the New Economic Order, and International Relations. Course descriptions can be viewed on the Singapore course page.

This academic coursework is augmented by an enhanced course of study that draws from Singapore’s history and culture. These enhancements include guest lectures, field trips to major sites, activities and projects. Sights visited include the Asian Civilizations Museum, Night Safari, Botanical Gardens, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and the Singapore Art Museum.
