The Residential Director provides day-to-day supervision of the
Residential Counselors making sure all residential needs are covered
and EPGY participants are properly supervised. The Residential
Director works closely with all Head Counselors to make sure EPGY
rules and guidelines are uniformly enforced across the different
residences. The Residential Director works closely with the Director
and Assistant Director of the Summer Institutes to plan and organize
residential components of the program. This includes staff training
and organization, arrival day planning, staff scheduling guidelines,
etc.
The Residential Director serves as the main on-site point person
for interfacing with parents and Stanford University offices. This is
the highest level residential staff position offered with the EPGY
Summer Institutes. The position requires a very high level of
responsibility, self-direction, management skills, good judgment, and
discretion.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree by the start of the summer
required. At least one year experience as a trained Residential
Assistant or comparable experience required. Previous summer camp
experience and experience leading large groups; enthusiasm and
dedication to EPGY; ability to lead a full residential staff team;
organizational skills and ability to delegate a must.
Salary: The Residential Director receives full room and
board plus salary depending on qualifications and experience. Airfare
is included for international programs.
