EPGY students have full and busy daily schedules. The typical
weekday routine for EPGY begins with breakfast in a Stanford dining
hall, followed by morning classes. The courses are taught in Stanford
classrooms or in EPGY computer labs, and are followed by lunch. The
students then return for a study, workshop, or lab session which is
typically held in their residences. These sessions usually consist of
one-on-one conferences, small group discussion sessions, projects,
labs, or independent work. The late afternoon is filled with a variety
of activities, which allow students to get to know other EPGY students
outside of their residence and course. After dinner, there is another
opportunity for continued work on course assignments followed by
evening events. These vary from camp-wide activities, such as the EPGY
Talent Show, to free time to practice music or write home, to
supervised excursions into downtown Palo Alto. Field trips to exciting
cultural and natural attractions are scheduled for one day each weekend, and
the other weekend day will have open-ended free time as well as an offering of enjoyable
activities. Students are required to be in their residences at the
scheduled curfew time, and in their beds for lights-out, in order to
get enough rest for the next busy EPGY day.
