The Activities Coordinators, working in groups of two or three, organize and implement the comprehensive planning of afternoon, evening, and weekend activities for EPGY Summer Program students. Afternoon activities, offered daily, are an integral part of the Summer Institutes; they reflect the diverse interests and talents of the students, and enrich the program experience by providing a balance to the rigorous academic schedule. Typical activities include sports, music, arts and crafts, local excursions, and many others. Afternoon activities are led by the Residential Counselors, who may assist Activities Coordinators in developing new ideas for offerings. More elaborate activities such as dances, talent shows, concerts, slide shows, and carnivals are organized for the weekends and some evenings. Activities Coordinators also help plan and support the coordination of field trips and special meals. This is a full-time residential position offered for the EPGY Summer Institutes High School Program and Middle School Programs only.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and the ability to motivate staff and students
- Experience with coaching, camp counseling, recreational programming, or successful event planning is desired
- Strong organizational, logistical, and time-management skills
- Previous summer camp or after-school program experience is desirable
- Comfortable working independently and in groups
- Must be available for mandatory training from June 19th–June 23rd
- Applicants who can be available for the entire program (two sessions for the High School Program or three sessions for the Middle School Program) preferred
Salary: The compensation for the Activities Coordinator position starts at approximately $575 per week depending on qualifications and experience. Room and board is included.
