Dr. Sanders received a B.A. in Mathematics from Amherst College in 1988, graduating Summa Cum Laude, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and class Valedictorian. In graduate school at Stanford University, Dr. Sanders was an ARCS Fellow and Sloan Fellow, receiving his PhD in Mathematics in 1994. After Assistant Professorships at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and Dickinson College, he joined EPGY in 1998.
Dr. Sanders’ mathematical interests include algebraic topology, set theory, logic, philosophy of mathematics, and pedagogy at all levels. When not working and not reading something that has nothing to do with mathematics, he enjoys spending his time outdoors, usually hiking or cycling.
