Ms. Bickart earned her B.A. from Dartmouth College and her M.A. in East Asian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Her academic interests include Chinese language and modern Chinese history.

Ms. Bickart spends her free time with her three children and her pet rat, as well as reading, running, and tending to a vegetable garden.
